The Principles of Health
The Principles of Health for achieving and maintaining excellent health, overcoming and preventing disease, maximizing fitness, losing weight safely, and increasing longevity Your body has the miraculous ability to heal itself. Your DNA contains the projection of your body in its optimum state, and your body is always changing and striving to be just that—optimum. An obvious example of this is when you cut your finger. Even if you do nothing to disinfect the wound or cover it with a bandage, it will usually heal itself so perfectly that even the fingerprint will be restored to exactly as it was before. This same process happens internally, like the damage to the heart from heart disease. But if that's true, why do people die of heart disease? Why is heart disease the number one killer in America? Why aren't those damaged hearts repairing themselves? Because if every time the cut on your finger started to heal, you opened it up again with a knife, it would not heal. As long as the knife keeps cutting, the wound can't heal. It is the same with degenerative diseases. Your body is constantly regenerating and rebuilding itself—at least trying to—every minute you are alive. But if the destruction of cells is happening at a faster rate than they can be replaced by the body's natural healing process, degeneration occurs. We are slowly dying, from the moment we are conceived. Lifetimes have been extended but has the quality of life been extended? Many think not in these stressful times. Acid, the by-product of metabolism, mental stress, oxidative stress and our chemically loaded environment is the knife that keeps wounding us internally, especially with the accelerated lifestyles we have seen in these modern times. One effect of acid on the cells of our bodies is degeneration. Your very lifestyle may be creating the constant internal wounding that is causing degenerative disease and limiting your body from healing. To stop and reverse this process, the cause must be eliminated, and the body must consistently have the correct internal environment and the correct nutritional building blocks. We truly are what we eat! Doctor Arthur C. Guyton, M.D., in his Textbook of Medical Physiology (used for educating medical students), explains how to achieve good health: The first step in maintaining health is to alkalize the body. The cells of a healthy body are alkaline, while the cells of a diseased body are acidic - below a pH of 7.0. The more acidic the cells, the sicker we become. If the body cannot alkalize the cells, they become acidic and thus disease sets in. Our bodies produce acid as a byproduct of normal metabolism. But our bodies do not manufacture alkalinity, so we must supply the alkalinity from an outside source to keep us from becoming acidic and dying. Doctor Jeff Bennert, N.D. PHD has stated that healing begins when the pH is raised to 7. Doctor Theodore A. Baroody titled his very important book on the subject: Alkalize or Die—and he means just that. Alkalization is the basis of health. And that is how our products work. First they alkalize. Then they help to provide the body with the correct internal environment and the proper nutritional building blocks of which our food is deficient—working together synergistically to simultaneously strengthen all of the body's systems: the digestive, skeletal, muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, nervous, respiratory. People sometimes say they do not need nutritional supplements because they are doing just fine without them. They might have a little arthritis, but they're not concerned about it. They should ask themselves the reason they have a little arthritis? What they may have is the early stages of a disease that may harm them or kill them prematurely; they should be concerned right now when it is much easier to do something about it. The longer a degenerative disease is allowed to develop, the longer it takes and the harder it is to overcome. The same process that may be destroying their joints may be slowly eating away at all their organs, muscles, nerves, and every cell in their body. Unless they remove the cause, the wound cannot heal. How long would your car run without changing the oil or doing simple maintenance? It might run for a while without any noticeable problems, but when you do become aware of its problems, chances are it would be too late and you would need a major repair. What would have been easier: the maintenance or the major repair? With heart disease and many other degenerative diseases, the cause seems to be attributed to free radicals (oxidative stress), acid, and toxins. Diet, lifestyle, environment, stress, and normal metabolic processes contribute to the acid wastes in the system. These acids constantly work against the body's cells, tissues, and organs. But when the excessive causes are removed and the body is alkalized, it can return to health, just as pool water will stay balanced and clear with the correct pH; it's automatic. You don't make it happen. You don't even have to think about it—as long as you remove the cause and provide the body consistently with the correct internal environment and the nutritional raw materials it needs to rebuild itself and continue functioning like it was designed to function. Health is your birthright. The approximate 76 trillion cells that make up your body are all designed to be healthy. Health is their natural state. When your cells are healthy, your body is healthy. It is said that your body takes about seven years before most of your cells are completely replaced! Disease results from a number of different things, one of which is oxygen deficiency, a condition of acidity. Acidity leads to poor circulation which further increases oxygen deficiency, added to which are poor breathing and polluted and depleted air (Today's air averages 8% oxygen, compared with reports of as high as 35% during earlier times, determined by testing air bubbles trapped in fossilized amber.). An acidic, oxygen-deprived body is more susceptible to bacteria, viruses, and other toxic agents. That is why hospitals typically put a person on a pure oxygen flow, to aid the body in time of crisis. Add nutritional deficiency to the mix (depleted soils, fractionated chemical fertilizers, processed foods, and the body's inability to assimilate and circulate nutrients and eliminate wastes properly) and you have a dangerous combination which could contribute greatly to many if not all of the causes of disease. Correct these conditions and your cells—and your body—can return to health. Your body has great intelligence. It knows what to do and will do it, if given the chance. That means it must be supported, cleansed, detoxified, alkalized, balanced, provided with the correct internal environment, and nourished correctly and consistently. Proper nutrition requires proper supplementation. If you want to achieve or maintain health, you must supply your body on a daily basis with what it needs. Today, it is very difficult to get all of these nutrients from just the food you eat, no matter how natural and organic it is. For a complete explanation of this pandemic nutritional deficiency, if you haven't already read it, read Senate Document 264. The body is a marvelous mechanism. If blood becomes too acidic, which it is always doing, and your body cannot extract enough alkalizing minerals from your food, it robs calcium and other alkalizing minerals from your bones, tissues, organs, and possibly even the DNA of cells. This process usually leads to osteoporosis and other degenerative diseases and compromises the immune system, making us vulnerable to infectious diseases and improper cell replication as well. But in this regard, osteoporosis is a good thing because it is caused from the body's leaching calcium from the bone if not present from other sources; if the body could not extract the minerals it needs to perform necessary functions, such as neutralizing the acids in the blood, those acids would have done their damage and would have led to imminent death. Even fat is a good thing. It is created in part to store the acid that cannot be neutralized and eliminated properly and keep it away from the tissues thereby protecting the body. Cholesterol too is a good thing, in this regard, to a certain level in the blood. But osteoporosis, fat, and the build-up on artery walls also have many negative side effects. Fat has been found to be as dangerous over time to health as smoking, and the dangers of osteoporosis and cholesterol (well out of normal range - otherwise it is a necessary ingredient in our makeup) are widely known. It is much better to take the steps necessary to prevent the degenerative process. And I'm not talking about drugs, because drugs cannot cure anything. I have spent a lot of time watching people taking drugs under the best, most expensive, most intensive medical care and getting sicker and dying way before their time. Drugs typically treat symptoms not causes, and treating symptoms without eliminating causes usually leads to greater sickness. And many, if not most, drugs have negative side effects—averaging 17 negative side effects per drug. Sure, they can save your life in a crisis, make you feel better temporarily, ease your pain sometimes—and that's good—but they cannot bring about regeneration. Only proper nutrition and care of the body can bring about regeneration and optimum health. And only proper nutrition properly applied, with an emphasis on supplementation—combined with sunshine and fresh air, proper breathing, adequate amounts of clean water, proper exercise, adequate rest, proper thinking and attitude—can bring about true health. How strictly you follow the rules is going to depend on how sick you are or how healthy you want to be. The late diet guru Georges Ohsawa used to say, "A person who is healthy can eat whatever he (or she) wants." The healthier you are, the more you can bend or even break the rules. But if you were really healthy, do you think you would want to compromise that condition? And the sicker you are, the more important it is to follow the rules. The rules are simple and the same whether you want to achieve health, maintain it, or improve it. You must detoxify and cleanse, alkalize and balance your body, and provide it with the correct internal environment and proper and complete nutritional building blocks. Give it a chance; it will do the rest. Of course it is difficult because behavioral patters are hard to change. There is a consequence to all our actions, and we should remember that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! We hear the stories and we see the examples, yet most of us let it slide, some, unfortunately, when it's too late. Take charge of your life and make the most of your body; it's the only one we get.
